Evans Delivery Company, a market-leading logistics company, was honored by the Northeast PA Manufacturers & Employers Association (MAEA) for achievement in Energy Efficiencies.  The award was presented at the MAEA 10th Annual Excellence Awards dinner in May 2011.

“Energy and green technologies are important in our industry,” noted Bert Evan, President of Evans Network of Companies headquartered in Schuylkill Haven, PA.  “We must look at long-term solutions to decreasing our energy use while maintaining a competitive advantage,” he continued.

Evans Network proudly launched Export Container Optimization‐Match  (ECO‐Match®) program in 2008. This Environmental Initiative benefits importers and exporters in particular and the environment in general. The goal of the program is to make more productive use of resources by matching up to 75 percent of import shipments with export shipments handled by Evans Network. The company has implemented this program with importers, exporters, and steamship lines.  So far, these projects have saved more than 315,000 gallons of diesel fuel and almost 7.0 million lbs of CO2.

Evans Delivery Company, Inc. is a certified transport partner in the Environmental Protection Agency’s SmartWay Transport Program. Evans is ranked with the highest score of 1.25, representing outstanding environmental performance according to the EPA.

The Evans Network of Companies has initiated several diesel fuel conservation strategies such as: Vehicle Speed Reduction (engine speeds set to a maximum of 65 mph), Engine Idling Reduction (no more than five minutes), Tire Inflation, ECO- flaps, Aero-Dynamic Body Fairing and Cab Heater Installation.  The company continues to work on a regional and national level with industry groups and is a leader in an initiative to replace older, heavy polluting tractor trailers which would result in as much as an 80 percent reduction of particulate matter in Port areas around the county.

In addition to the MAEA award, Evans Network of Companies was recently listed as a Top Green Supply Chain Partner by Inbound Logistics magazine.
